Kelley AustinAt what point do you consider a Kat to be high mileage?

NightProwlerA relative question...constraining the answer to the 4-5 year old Prowler population and not the automobile population.

My guess is 30,000 in 2004. While I have no quantitative research results it appears there are a lot of Prowlers with under 10,000 miles. Sure there are Cats with 40,000 to 75,000 but these are 3 standard deviations off the mean. My impression is based solely on what I read on the POA. My Cat has 2,100 miles.

Perhaps the POA could have an owner survey on this topic.

meancatA high milage cat is one that has more miles then mine(6300) that's how you know!
ed monahanKelley, don't forget some of the cars are 97's and some are 2002's. 15,000 on a 97 v. 15,000 on a 2002. Is that a big difference or not?
DR PROWLERIsn't 12-15000 miles a year standard driving on most regular every day cars?
Most Prowlers are way below that making them low mileage.
The more miles you put on,the more people you meet, the more grins you put on your face the more...
Possum9My 2000 has about 9,400 miles. The enjoyment for me is not to waste trips with the car, but when I do drive it, it gives me a sense of pleasure and enjoyment and a way to relax after a rough day or at the end of the week when its nice outside. When I first bought the car, I didn't want to
put a lot of miles on it, but as I spoke with others who had exotic cars and they all told me, it does no good to let them sit and you bought the car to enjoy it. So I try to
watch where I go and not add more than 2-3,000 miles per year. Thats my goal
BeWareOurs turned 28,000 today. My original goal was 5,000 per year. We will have owned the Kat 5 year April 15th. So I came close but exceeded my goal somewhat. Close to needing new rear tires now.
akadvs1Anything over 4,000 miles...lol, keep on Prowlin!
Lone Ranger

We have averaged around 600 miles per month on our kat since we bought it in April of 2003. This car was purchased to drive and enjoy. This year i intend to drive and enjoy it even more. Thats my thing and if others want to just park their kats and not put the miles on them that's their thing.

I remember when i was a kid growing up in Chicago and when my father bought a new car the first thing he did was put plastic covers on the seats so he could save them. ???? Well that was his thing.

Whatever you are confortable doing with your kat should be your thing..Look lets say five years down the road i sell my kat i'm not worrying because i know some of these kats will be sitting with hardly any miles on them just waiting for me. lol

George C10 to 12K a year for a regular car....for a KAT..depends on where you live. Here in Calif. I went to most events in SoCal and some in NoCal....in 4years 8mos. I put 30,000 on mine.My wife's is an '01 it has 19,000 and we did 2 trips over 5,000 mi.ea. ( deadwood & CanAm with Larry Lord )And another 10 day over 2000 mi. New Mexico one.(with Ca.Phil and Jane). That's from May 2001 til now.We get to drive ours more often than most owners.I consider ours low mileage.
Kat DreamerNightProwler, is that sample standard deviations or population standard deviations?

Just finished a statistics class recently and your post brought back nightmares!

ChromerMy GOAl is to render the car a totaled or "total rebuild" before I die!

GEEEZZ RICH...

I just turned 20,000 miles, and my rear tires are as smooth as the behind of a Sasquatch!!

Doesn't sound like you've been doing your share of neutral drops....???

Been there, done that! At least engine wise.

WAYNEWAT 75,000+ ON MY CAT IT STILL LOOKS WAY-NEW. SO I WOULD HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING OVER 125,000.

------------------

CJIt's all perspective, I guess. My Black 99 has just under 13,000 (delivery, July, 99) and my Candy Red 02 (delivery, Feb, 02) has 13,300+ miles!!

My husband thinks that's a lot of miles......but I don't think it's enough!!

Black Tie 161It may be relative, with the unusual proportion of cats with less than 5K miles on it. Some might think a cat with 10K is high miles???
